The POB-Eye II is the new camera of POB. It brings significant new features and keeps compatibility with with the POB-Eye I.

The POB-Eye II is the brain of you robot. It is the part that we program. It puts together the calculating power, the I/O management, the communication with your computer or with other robots, and the color vision.

Pattern recognition is very easy whatever the programming mod you choose.

A CD-Rom with examples and development tools, a USB cable for your PC are also provided.

Programmable with C, C++, Java, Basic and RISBEE, software are free.

Your POB-Eye I programs are compatible with the POB-Eye II. You just have to setup some parameters and recompile.

POB-Technology made a similar BUS as the one on computers. Thanks to its BUS (HE10 connector), the POB-Eye II can communicate faster with several slave parts than a serial protocol can do. Data acquisiton from sensors is in real time.

In addition to the 0V and supply voltage, the I2C bus and the 15 input/output are on the HE10 connector.

It allows the user to connect extension boards to the POB-Eye II part.

This connector gives access to the I2C bus (which has already its pull up resistance).

In addition to the I/O, there is the +5V, the Ground and the POB-Eye II power supply.

The user can create his own functions, there's free access to the RGB, HSL and YUV components from the CMOS sens

More than giving a calculating power to your bot, which can manage the POB modules (for example), the POB-Eye has been designed to bring a real time color vision to your robot.

Its technical capabilities allows to do real time shape recognition and driving all your robot pieces by the POB-Eye’s Bus.

POB-Eye on Mindstorm NXT LEGO :

Using a POB-Bridge, the POB robot part to build a bridge between the Mindstorm NXT LEGO Technology and other robotics technology, you can plug a POB-Eye on a NXT and do shape recognition.

The user himself programs the module (in C, Basic or JAVA) : The POB-Eye is provided with an easy to use SDK. The user doesn’t have to develop the shape recognition functions, the native function “IdentifyForm” allows to recognize the shapes in front of the camera.

As well as a PC can do, with the I/O used as data and addresses bus, the POB-Eye can communicate with different devices (see POB-Proto, POB-LCD128, POB-Servo….). A complete documentation, illustrated with full examples helps the user’s first implementations.
